Routin — Privacy Policy

The short version

Routin does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data. Everything you create in the app — tasks, routines, and financial records — stays on your device. Routin has no servers and no user accounts.

Data storage

All pages, tasks, completion history, transactions, cards, budgets and bills are stored in a local database on your device only. No account is required, and no data ever leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.

SMS permission (optional expense auto-tracking)

If — and only if — you turn on “Auto-track from SMS” and grant the Android READ_SMS permission:

• Routin reads messages already stored in your phone's SMS inbox.
• Messages are analysed entirely on your device. They are never uploaded, transmitted, shared, or sent to any server — Routin operates no server of any kind.
• Only messages that look like bank, card, or wallet transaction alerts are used. From those, Routin extracts the amount, date, merchant name, payment method, and last four digits of the account or card in order to create an expense record on your device.
• One-time passwords (OTPs), verification codes, personal messages, and promotional messages are ignored and are not stored.
• Routin never sends, modifies, or deletes SMS messages, and does not access your contacts or call logs.
• You can turn auto-tracking off at any time in Settings, or revoke the permission in Android Settings → Apps → Routin → Permissions. Turning it off stops all message reading immediately; expense entries already created stay on your device until you delete them.

The SMS permission is used solely to provide this expense-tracking feature to you. The data derived from it is never used for advertising, analytics, profiling, credit assessment, or any purpose other than displaying your own spending back to you.

Notifications

Routin asks for notification permission solely to show the task reminders, bill due-date reminders, and daily summaries that you schedule yourself. Scheduling happens entirely on your device.

Backups

Backups are created only when you tap “Backup” in Settings. The backup file is handed to the app or destination you choose via your device's share dialog. We never receive a copy.

Analytics & third parties

The app contains no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party tracking of any kind. No data is sold or shared with anyone.

Children

Routin does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Data deletion

Because all data is local, uninstalling the app permanently removes everything. You can also delete individual transactions, cards, tasks and pages inside the app at any time.

Changes

If a future version of Routin ever changes any of the above (for example, optional cloud sync), this policy will be updated before that version is released.
